Hi everyone,

Yes the first beta is out, which means we're now accepting bug reports for the 1.1 release. We have a long list of bugs we're going to fix on the tracker already, but expect some more from early testers :)

At this stage, getting the release out by late October/early November isn't looking likely, because there is a big list of things to fix and clean up. I'm hopeful we can be in good shape by mid November (especially given there's no more conferences to go to!).

The best thing _you_ can do right now is to try out the new beta (either on a new site or by upgrading a COPY of your live site), and report any bugs you find to the tracker.

The development version preview site has been updated to the latest beta, so if you want to see how things are shaping up without installing Mahara, you can go there and register an account.

Now.. back to bugfixing!
