hi, great job on mahara.

We want to be able to force a view in a student profile. This could be sommethings like : my outcomes or my group goals, etc. Thoses «templates» could then be filled by the students. Anything along thoses line in the pipeline ?

great news we need this feature and we will be developing a module that will manage profiles of competencies. Let say you have a national competencies profile for this or that profession. Once this profile is created the learner will have a forced view called my outcome that he will have to fill using his artefact's linking them to competencies in his career profile. We would like to work in close collaboration with you so we can contribute to the roadmap in the process and get theses feature not be victims of future updates.

Sounds interesting :). I hope to post the plans for view templates some time in the next week so people can see how they will work, and give some comments. Development will start shortly after that. What the View templates look like will probably influence your model a bit :)

Very similar needs - how best to coordinate?

My foundation is beginning plans/design work to modify/enhance/build upon Mahara and has very similar needs vis-a-vis establishing views for users based on being a member of 1 or more institutions. It would be nice to coordinate this based on your plans in this area. My time has already been approved for design and build.

As nigel said we need to see his work first since this will have a major impact on how we do stuff. That being said we are trilled that others share this vision and we need to get together on how this will be implemented e-mail me at brosseaub grics.qc.ca so we can start the prep work. My boss just approuved work on this issue too so we could really get the ball going once we get nigel's inputs.
